This was my favorite session from last year. Allison Gilman’s family owns a farm in Glen Allen, and we did her senior portraits there. It was so fun to have cows, barns, fences, silos, and beautiful fields as a backdrop. We loved the cows the most!

Nine Year Old Girls Are Mean (or My Niece Plays Soccer)

My niece, Emma, who lives in Northern Virginia, is on a traveling soccer team. Several months ago, her team traveled to Richmond to play our Strikers. The Strikers got their butts kicked, but there was a lot shoving and kicking on both sides! Who knew 9 year old girls could be so brutal?

Our crew met my sister Amy and her kids up at the National Zoo the week after Christmas. They had a light display up for the holidays, but the big cats and the kids were the most entertaining.

Grounds for Sculpture

Early in December, I took a trip up to Philly to see my dad. On the way home, I stopped at my friend Pam’s house, and she took me to this amazing place called Grounds for Sculpture. It’s a 42-acre sculpture park in Hamilton, NJ that was founded by sculptor and philanthropist, J. Seward Johnson. Wine in hand, we walked around for a couple of hours in the freezing cold, and found something magical at every turn.

The Berron Family

I dropped some rather large prints off last week for the Berron family. I wish I had thought to photograph them while I still had them in my hands because they looked great!

This was a really fun shoot! Mom, Dad and three boy – the youngest were 18 month old twins, Sam and Lou – met me at the Carillon early one Saturday morning. We couldn’t have picked a nicer day!

Emlyn Crenshaw

It was almost three years ago the last time I did any photos of Emlyn. At the time, she was a sophomore in high school and needed a new headshot. Now she’s a freshman at Georgetown University. I hear she’s having a great time, but I bet she misses Pippi.

Ugh! I hate it when I get so behind that the show from whence the photos came has already closed, but that is once again the case. If you missed it, I’m really sorry. Aly Wepplo was especially good in it!
