One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to be better about the blogging. Hopefully I won’t blow it for at least a week or so.
We started our New Year’s Eve by heading to Movieland for a matinee. We saw “It’s Complicated.” I’d give it a B. Great performances, but the script left me unsatisfied. However, I’ve got to say that everything at Movieland is better than any other movie theater in town. They serve what you might consider real food (as opposed to strictly popcorn and candy) – we had mozzerella sticks and chicken tenders that were actually pretty decent. And what other movie theater serves liquor? We stuck with beer and Smirnoff Ice (it being the middle of the afternoon and all), but the wine selection wasn’t bad. So all in all, two thumbs up for Movieland. (Oh, and we can walk there.)
We spent the rest of the evening enjoying Cakebread Cellars’ 2004 Dancing Bear Ranch – 80% cabernet sauvignon, 10% merlot, 10% cabernet franc. 100% perfection! We had it shipped from the vineyard when we were out there in August. I also found these onion/walnut biscuits with bleu cheese butter on the Cakebread Cellars website, which Ginnie made bite-sized. Delicious!!!! Ginnie and Audra are in the kitchen right this minute making some more. Happy New Year to me!!!
